Philosophy of Ministry
The Kingdom of God is to be expressed through the Church of Jesus Christ locally. Every healthy church will not only hold to the Core Values expressed above, but will be built upon five basic pillars, these being Discipleship, Evangelism, Worship, Fellowship, and Ministry or D.E.W.F.M. with these principles in place, any church should grow, but interpreting these principles and values into the local community takes wisdom and insight through prayer.
Each church must be culturally relevant to its field. Issues of style of music, style of dress, definition of worldly or godly appearance and appropriate bible translation must be suited to the culture and must not be mandated by traditions of men, so long as they do not directly violate the clear teachings of scripture. We believe that the local church, while recognizable by its purity, will reflect and be complemented by its indigenous culture, and indeed must reflect its local culture if it is to be relevant.
What We Look Like
We hold once a week meetings for the entire group, both believers and seekers to participate in live worship, opportunity for giving, hearing the Word through preaching, and a time for committment and application.
There will be a once a month prayer night gathering to intercede for the needs of ourselves, our church and the world at large, followed by hands-on prayer for individual needs. We will go on a once-a-month fellowship outing to build relationships (i.e. bowling, putt-putt golf, cafe, local venue, etc.) This fellowship will include and or all of the church body at first and later be taken over by small group fellowships to manage group size.
There will be once a month outreach / ministry opportunity for the church, believing that we are called to good works (i.e. blood drive, visit local hospitals, nursing homes, block party, front yard BBQ, food drives, etc.).
Main advertisement is by personal invitations. Invitations go out on “party cards” with hand-written time and place information, by individuals inviting friends and acquaintances.
"Morning Blend" is coffee and chat time before weekly meetings where people can catch up with each other.
Throughout the week, meetings for bible study and fellowship take place at homes of individuals. Ideal size of group is up to 12-14 people; we believe in multiplying by mitosis.
Ministries will be added only as needed and practical and not solely because of the traditions of men. We use the philosophy of "do a few things well," asking the question, "Is this program necessary, practical and an improvement?"
